Yesterday We Played

It has been really nice having the Younger Daughter home from school this week. She has been working hard on changing her room around, homework, and a blanket that she is crocheting for a friend. But in between we have been sharing books, trying new recipes, throwing the Frisbee around, and having some really good talks. And then yesterday afternoon, we decided to do something that we haven't done in a long time. Something we used to spend a lot of time doing together when she was little, especially on snow days and school vacations. We got out the paints.

Hers are the pretty ones, mine are the goofy ones. We had a blast being little kids again. Maybe we should do this more often....

Haircuts (or Harecuts?)

Weasley would like to thank everyone who commiserated with him about his impending haircut. As it turned out, he didn't have to go through the experience alone this time. His Sister eased his pain by having her long, curly locks chopped, too.

Aren't they a cute pair?  She was much happier about her haircut than he was about his.

And when hers was done, the huge pile of hair on the floor looked like some strange,  curly-haired animal. A rabbitdoodle, maybe?

Serious Spring Fever

The weather has been completely amazing here this week. I have done far too much wandering around looking at the new growth, instead of doing anything useful. Plants are sprouting up, budding, and then bursting into bloom so fast you can almost see it happen.

The younger daughter is coming home from school for spring break today. Guess I'll have to pull myself out of my spring haze to be Mom again. And some bunny needs a haircut (don't tell him, he might hide)....Should be a fun weekend. Hope you have a great one, too!

What Do We Have Here?

What's this?  A napping bunny that is not in the sun?

Your seeing that right. I guess this fine weather we are having is just too hot when you are wearing a fur coat. Look at that cute little tail. Want to know a secret about it?

It's crooked. I guess maybe it was broken at some point, because the tip of the bone makes a right angle turn.

And don't you just want to tickle these feet?

"Mom, unless you have a treat, stop disturbing my nap."

OK, I'm getting the papaya right now!

If we are not around the blogs much this week it's because I am enjoying being outside, and he is sleeping (like usual).  We hope you are having weather that is as wonderful as ours is.

Friday In The Garden

Bet you weren't expecting to see that title so soon! Actually, neither was I. I was planning to post more pictures from my Pittsburgh trip. Then, I saw the weather forecast for the next week, and decided to uncover the greens that I had planted in the veggie garden last fall. Thanks to the warm winter, they are quite far ahead of where they were this time last year.

The lettuce, arugula, and  radishes are growing well. The only disappointment was that there is not much spinach. I'm guessing that our October snowstorm came at just the wrong time for the young seedlings. I will plant some more, and hope that I get a decent harvest before the weather warms up too much, and the plants bolt.  Considering how warm it's been all winter, I'm not getting my hopes up! Hmm.... I wonder what else I may be able to plant now. Maybe some kale?

Pretend It's Still Wednesday

Mom's really falling down on the job. She goes away for a few days, and when she comes back, she can't even figure out what day it is! Jeez! She must have gotten way too rowdy with my Pittsburgh sister.

I wanted her to feel bad about leaving me, so I told her I was so hungry I needed to eat my towel.

I don't think she bought it though, since she knows that my spare sister (the extra one who we have on hand sometimes) always spoils me when Mom and Dad go away.

While she was gone, Mom took pictures of some strange animals. She says that this one from the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium makes her think of me. I wonder why?

Mom's Having A Cow

Hi, everybun! I'm feeling much better this week. Thanks for all the positive vibes you've been sending me. Today I'm just hanging out in the sun, enjoying the warm day.

Meanwhile, Mom's been having a cow.

Actually, she's been having two cows!

Why would she need cows when she has me?

Don't worry. I won't let thoughts like these distract me from my nap for long. The sun is just sooooo nice today....zzzzz......

Simple Pleasures

It's been a long week around here. Today I decided to just kick back a little, and enjoy what was around me. I sewed some blue scraps together. These are destined to become a sky.

There wasn't any blue sky outside, but I did enjoy the view. There was a snow day yesterday, but it's hard to appreciate it properly with no kids at home. Normally snow would not be a fun event by the time March rolls around. But, since we have had very little of it since that big October storm, it still looks beautiful.

And most beautiful of all? A Bunny who has decided to start eating again. I'm actually enjoying the fact that he is under my feet begging for treats every time I enter the room.

We decided yesterday to wait on any more tests, as they would be more invasive. Today he is showing his appreciation, I guess. Let's hope it last! Have a great weekend, everybun!
