A Bit of Progress

Made some progress on my llama this week, but not as much as I had hoped to. Sometimes the hands just don't want to cooperate with the hand stitching.

Now here is where I was going to show you photos of Jensen, Buttercup, and Knight at Speedy's Pirate Party, but I haven't been able to get the camera back from Knight yet. He was soaking wet and growling about darn rabbits when they came home. Then Jensen said Knight had looked good with eye patches over both eyes. Both rabbits hopped away snickering, and I'm pretty sure that I heard Buttercup mumble something about a long walk on a short plank. Guess there must have been a lot of rum consumed....

Going To A Party....

Jensen and I are headed to our pal Speedy's Gotcha Day Party. He offered to share it with Jensen, because Mom didn't throw him a party. I told Speedy's Mom that we would bring Carrot Cake. I figured we would bake it ourselves, because Speedy is that special. We ran into a problem, though.

While I was busy trying to figure out how to use this "mixer" thing with the tasty cord,

Jensen ate all the carrots!

That Jensen!

The big galoot can really pack away a lot of food.

He just keeps eating, and eating,

and a sweet little thing like me can barely get a bite before he finishes all the food!

Anyway, Mom saved the day. She went to the store and got a cake for us (for Speedy, that is). Of course, Jensen was about ready to eat that too. Luckily, I stopped him!

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

See you at Speedy's! Maybe bring some carrots with you?

Buttercup

Feeling Better

It took a while, but Jensen's hangover is finally gone. That was some party! Speedy, you are a terrific Pirate Captain. Now that we're rested, and fully powered up, we are just wondering what adventures will come our way next....

AAARRRR! We Are Late,

and I blame Buttercup! I can't believe how long she has taken to get ready for Speedy's Pirate Party. Really, who cares what she looks like?  Oww! I mean, umm, she's so totally beautiful already.

Anyway, as Mom showed you last time, I've been ready for days.

Aren't I a handsome pirate? And now, after a lot of muttering about Jessica Rabbit, here is Pirate Princess Buttercup.

Buttercup went with red, to play up those dangerous beautiful, red eyes of hers. And she thinks her mini-skirt is very sexy. Mom said not to tell her that with her short, little legs, it's actually a maxi-skirt. I wouldn't laugh, either. Those eyes can work for evil, as well as good.

BC says that stupid, noisy bird is a parrot. It keeps saying "as you wish, as you wish". She says she'll get rid of him, if I learn to say that. Ha! Fat chance. And now, we are out of here. Into the closet, and off to Speedy's, hopefully before the rum is all gone. For some reason, the Pirate Princess' bottle is already empty. See you soon, Speedy!

Fun Times With Blog Buddies

Some of you already know this from FB, but on Sunday I went to the Pet Rock Festival in Worcester, Ma. It's a fundraising/awareness raising event for animal groups. Hundreds of people bring their pets, mostly dogs. There is music, and police and Frisbee dog demonstrations. My reason for going, though, was to meet Mr. Mick's Mom. Jade was at the House Rabbit Connection booth, and we were able to meet in the flesh for the first time ever! Finally!

I did watch the Frisbee dogs. They were having a tough time, because there was a strong, and gusty wind blowing. They still managed to be amazing, though.

I wish the rest of our bunny friends could have been there. With Brandi around, I'm sure we would have been able to take the place back over from the dogs! I guess at least the bunnies will be getting together soon, for Speedy's pirate party. I was doing a bunny picture for the LifeBook art class that I'm participating in this year, and decided to have Jensen try out the puffy shirt look. If you understand that reference, I know you are old, like me!

He looks pretty swashbuckling, don't you think? Now, to work on Buttercup's outfit....

Don't Open The Curtains, Please!

Guess what I did yesterday? I made a closet jump all by myself, just like a grown-up bun! First time! I went to Speedy's Gotcha Day Party.

Man, can his Mom throw a party! Everyone was there, even the Foo' Gerbil. I made sure not to sit on Buttons, like Mom told me, but ummm.... I may have sat on Maddy. No, she wasn't very happy about it.

All the Royalty was there, the Princess, Sir Harrington, and Lady Hannah. Harrington and Hannah were working hard at having as much fun as shell is this weekend. That's all I'll say about that.

I brought some apple sticks with pinapple, strawberries, and bananas stuck on them, to put into the Carrotinis. Mom said to be sure and share. I shared with Speedy, Maddy, Amelia, Hannah, Tyler, Racer, and then I don't remember much more.

If you are wondering, I only had one false start on the way home. Some lady in Fitchburg got a bit of a surprise around 2 A.M. Anyway, I made it.

I hope everybunny else is feeling better than I am. Don't worry, I'll be OK, as long as Mom keeps the ice and willow coming.

Great party, Speedy! Can't wait for the next one!
Nose bonks,
Jensen

Playing With Friends

Recently, I’ve been given several awards by my blogging friends.  Speedy and Rachel presented me with the Family of Bloggers Award,
which wants you to pass the award to close blogging friends, and also the Seven Things about Me Award. With this one, I am supposed to tell you seven things about me that you didn’t already know, and then pass it on to seven friends.

Jade and Mickey passed the One Sweet Blog Award to me, which has some questions to be answered, and then is supposed to be passed on, also.

I thought I would keep things going along the weird vein that they have been lately, so here goes.

Seven things about me, Minerva Aphrodite, and about this Karen person who types for me:

1.     I spent 12 years on a dusty shelf. Can you imagine what that feels like? Makes me sneeze just thinking about it.  Karen has lived longer in Massachusetts than in New York, but she still feels like a New Yorker, the Upstate Kind. I don’t know what that means, because I don’t get off this shelf much.

2.     Karen says she was an Engineer for a short time before the Oldest was born. Can’t prove it by me. I am a genetically engineered monstrosity   NOT funny, Karen. As I was saying, I am a painstakingly created, and gorgeous Diva, part rabbit (the best part), part chinchilla, part pony. . It goes like this:

a.      Domain Eukorya

b.     Kingdom Animalia

c.     Phylum Chordata

d.     Class Mammalia, sub-class Plasticae

e.      Order Lagodentia

f.       Family Leporchillidae

g.     Genus Oryctoquus

h.     Species Cabcunichilla

3.     Karen sleeps in a bed, and snores really loud. I sleep on the shelf, in the bunny crate, or wherever I get put down. And I don’t get fluffy towels like the rabbits did, only this old hankie.

4.     Speedy loves Peanuts. I think they are highly over-rated. Especially Lucy and Peppermint Patty. Karen prefers Zits. I think that’s gross!

5.     Speedy doesn’t like cold weather. Karen doesn’t like hot weather. I was made for cold, what with this body shape and fur, even if most of the fur is plastic.

6.     I can flutter my lashes, but I can’t blink. Karen’s eyes don’t work much better than mine, but they do shut. I’m a little jealous of that, but don’t tell her.

7.     Karen has a big scar on her wrist, from dropping a frosting bowl that her Grandma gave her to lick when she was little. I have a copyright   tattoo on my, umm…underside.

Well, that’s seven. One thing that you know for sure now is that Karen is crazy. I, of course, am not.

Now, for the One Sweet Blog Award.

1.     Cookies or cake? Whatever I can get my plastic, little paws on. Karen likes homemade chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, and The Cake. And brownies. Warm brownies, with vanilla ice cream. And chocolate sauce………Umm, where were we? Right, OK

2.     Chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate for both of us. Since I’m genetically engineered, I can have chocolate. Eat your hearts out, bunnies!

3.     Favorite sweet treat? Ice cream, preferably Cherry Moosetracks, from Cherry Hill Ice Cream stand, around the corner for Karen.  I’ll take whatever I can find when I get in here, which is not much right now. Somebody had  better go shopping soon.

4.     When do you crave sweet things? Pretty much always, for both of us.

5.     If you had a sweet nickname, what would it be? Karen says mine would be Fuzzy Dustball, or Silly, Useless Piece of Plastic Junk. I don’t think that’s very nice, and it’s certainly not sweet. I think Minnie would be good, even though I’m not a mouse. And Karen can be Giant Human Pain in My Bu----

OK, that’s enough of that! Minnie has been put in the corner for time out. Apparently genetic engineering doesn’t guarantee good behavior. Thanks to Speedy, Mickey, Rachel and Jade for thinking of me with these awards. It’s been fun.

Now this is the hard part. We are supposed to pass the award onto other people. But, most of the people we know have already had them. So, if you are interested in playing along, let me know, and I’ll pass the honors on to you.

A Work In Progress

Today was one of those days. You know the kind I mean. Too much to do, and everything takes longer than you expect. I worked on today's collage project in between other commitments, but didn't get it finished. This is what I have so far.

My work is on the right, my palette on the left. Actually, the palette's looking pretty good. Better than the red apple. My husband came home after playing basketball tonight, looked at this, and said "Nice job on that tomato". That's the most he's said about any of these collages. And he's right. Should have been paying more attention when I drew my shapes.  Like I said, it was one of those days.

Hope your week is going well. See you back tomorrow.

(Special note to my darling nephew Speedy. I haven't forgotten. I'm hoping to get to it on Friday, as long as the rest of the week is sane. Nose bonks, Little One.)

Speedy Inspiraton

I was thinking today about the funk I've been in lately. It's time that I started pushing negative thoughts aside, and begin replacing them with positive thoughts. This may take a lot of practice. Then I thought, "who is the most positive person I know?"

Instantly, an image of Speedy popped into my mind. OK, I know he's not a human person, but we all know that lagomorphs are the superior species, so.... And really, he's such a positive little big guy, that he's almost risking his Rabbit ID card. (Not to worry, though. Mr. Mick disapproves enough for two!)

That is why Speedy made it into today's collage. I hope his Mom isn't upset that I stole borrowed his picture from his blog. Don't you just want to beep that nose?

I think maybe every rainbow should have a Speedy at the end of it!

Going To A Party!

Some of you may have heard already, but my fuzzy nephew (yes, he adopted me) is one year old today. Speedy is such a personality, it's hard to believe he's only been around such a short time. Anyway, he's having a party, and I'm going. First I have to get his present ready.

  1.  Me
  2. Carrots
  3. Apple sticks
  4. Carrot cake
  5. Bow (he can wear it on his head later, it goes with his scarf)
  6. Crumpled paper balls (to play with)
  7. Banana chips
  8. Rabbit Ears 2012B, the basic model. I couldn't afford the fancy one that shell has.

Here I go, into the closet transporter. I really hope this thing works. Don't want to end up in a wall or something by accident.

OMG! It really worked! Amazing. And there's the little sweetheart big, strong, adventuring bunny now.

Looks like it's going to be quite a party. I think I see some carrot rum over there. Right next to Harrington.....

So what are you waiting for? Come join the party. Quick, before all the rum is gone! See you soon.
