Pets On Quilts Show
There is an interesting event in the works over at sewcalgal. She is calling it her Pets On Quilts Show, and it will happen in August. Everyone is welcome to join in. You can post a picture of a quilt with an animal in the design, or an actual animal on your quilt (dangerous around here). You can also participate by making beds or blankets for shelters, or by volunteering at a shelter. Check out the link for more information, and have fun browsing her blog, also. It's got a lot going on.
I plan to participate, but I'm going to have to buckle down and get organized. The show starts about the time we take First Daughter off to Pittsburgh for a couple of years. Its probable just going to keep getting crazier around here for the next couple of weeks.
By the way, Ginny is still holding her own. We are going to a new vet today, to see if she has anything more to offer us. I'll let you know what happens.

What Goes On In A Bunny Brain?
Sometimes you just have to wonder what are they thinking? Although she is not eating her pellets (she is nibbling at hay), so far today Ginny has been caught eating:
These are the blocks from yesterday, all sewn together. It ended up slightly too narrow to my eyes, so I added a border on one side. There will be a vine with stylized flowers placed on top of that border, but I haven't gotten that far yet. This was option number two. First, I thought about adding a strip of horizontal pieced logs down one side, separated from the body of the quilt by a narrow white border (1 inch). Hopefully, I have made the right choice.
It may be a few days before I can show you the final result, since I travel to North Adams tomorrow, to bring First Daughter home for the weekend. That means Second Daughter will have to let ME have the car! Hah!
- cardboard
- basket (actually a bunny toy)
- towel
- safety cover for lamp cord
- strap to The Man's laptop bag

Ginny in the Wild
Today we packed away Christmas, so the rabbits were let into the room with the tree. Weasley found a sunny spot and went to sleep, but Ginny had a good time exploring "the wild". It must be wild, right? There is a tree!
If you are wondering why they didn't get to check it out earlier, there are several reasons. Although we don't use tinsel, many decorations are unhealthy if eaten. Rabbits are addicted to chewing electrical cords. Must like the buzz.... And in Ginny's case, there is another reason. This is a picture of our tree skirt, made around 1990. Look closely at the lower left.
Rabbits eat quilted tree skirts, also.
Now, off to enjoy some homemade turkey soup on this cold evening. Stay warm!

Trying Something New
Well, my wonderful daughters have put me on this blogging path, now I have to live up to their expectations!
Since you may be wondering about the title of this blog, I thought I would show you a picture of the usual suspect, and one of her victims. The rabbit is Ginny. The quilt was made in 1990, and luckily is just a toss over you on the couch kind of quilt. When the culprit was discovered, she was covered in little bits of batting, which took a long time to untangle from that beautiful angora fur.
