Today I started with this picture of the Man of the House. He's on the site of some old mine ruins out in North Adams, Ma.
And then, I added in this piece of dryer vent.
After using different lighting effects and opacitys, and a gradient layer that is darker in the middle, I added some text, said the magic word, and waved Ginny's apple stick at it, and behold:
Now I just need to write the Gothic novel to go with this book cover.... Or maybe I'll let Ginny do that part. It is her magic wand, after all!

Cool! Can I get a signed copy as soon as it's published?

Nice work!
Cool effects! Hope Ginny gets busy on that novel, soon :o)
Looks great! We all want magic apple sticks! (I guess once you start with Photoshop, your mind is open to possibilities such as dryer vents.)
Sometimes I long for New England, (like when I look at your pictures). Then I remember that it gets even colder there than it does here. And I think, not so much.
Your pic is very pretty and cool-looking. The novel sounds a little scary though. Not like I wouldn't read it ASAP.
