Is There A Blue Moon?

We've had this cottage for almost 6 months. I was getting ready to recycle it, because nobunny had ever ventured inside, except when I put them in (and at those times they refused to stay). Today I turned around and saw this.

That's Ginny's nose peeking out. She settled in for a long nap. Not much later, I turned around again, and saw another unexpected sight.

The toy that Weasley is licking has gone untouched even longer than the cottage! I don't know what is going on, but it reminds me of when my kids were little. They always seemed to know when I was getting ready to give an unused toy away. Must be some sort of primal mammalian instinct. We should find a scientist to study the phenomenon.

And guess what else? The fabric I ran out of on the project I was talking about on yesterday's list? I ordered a fabric that looked similar on my computer from the Fat Quarter Shop on Monday. It arrived today from Texas (only 2 days, by regular USPS!), and despite having a different name and number from the place I had ordered the original fabric from, it looks to be an exact match.   I was very grateful for this small blessing, and so now I am off to get sewing.

How funny about the mammalian instinct! They sure are cute.

Happy sewing!

Yay for unexpected exact matches!

I've seen that happen from time to time; exact same product, only a different name and style # because it's a different retailer. At least keep one or the other the same so people can find it when they need it.

As for G & W's sudden attachment to old toys, I've seen Mickey do that on occasion. I give it the "three strikes, you're out" treatment; if he's been offered the toy and ignored it three times (with ample time between offerings), it's gone. His current favorite, his predecessor's old jingleball, was on its third offering before he decided it was a pretty good toy for getting his Mum's attention.

Bunnies seem to like to age some things, like a fine wine. My bunnies like nothing better than the ancient seagrass matting for a gnaw. The hay I sweep up off the floor after a week is the finest, day old hay is "leftover", hay stolen out of the bag is primo.....Catch those blue moons when you can get 'em. Happy quilting.

My bunnies do the same thing with toys. sometimes they will ignore a toy for months and then suddenly they love it. sometimes they love it new and get bored. Often when I replace their FAVORITE, somehow the replacement is different and they're completely disinterested. Who knows why they like the things they like.

The buns are kin to the moon rabbit.
They are also trying to drive you crazy. Mercedes had a house like that, it lasted maybe 2 months before it collapsed. They also had a toy like Weasley's: it had an almond in the center--they didn't care for the wood much, so the almond was safe for a few months before someone finally freed it and ate it. You were meant to have that fabric.

So funny how they all do this. Should be a study for sure.

Picture Harrington sitting on the roof top of that cottage like a darn weathervane. It was too funny!

How great is that about your fabric matching! Woo hoo!

Lol! Those buns. I had a ratty old box that I almost threw out three times because they would ignore it for weeks, then just before I'd toss it, there they'd go, right back to it. Finally, there was not enough left to bother with and it did get thrown out.

Great news on the fabric match.

My kids were just the same way! But I'm a bit the same way myself, I guess, because I put a dress in the Goodwill bag last week that I haven't worn FOREVER and then on Sunday, that was THE ONLY THING I WANTED TO WEAR. (I'm proud to report that I resisted the urge to retrieve it from the Goodwill bag. So far.)

Good work on getting that fabric!
