Blogiversary Giveaway

Yes! Finished my project, at last! What do you think of my Zen(tangled) Rabbit Grocery bag? I made it using the Fold-n-Go Green Grocery Bag Pattern  (I notice that their website says the pattern has been redesigned to be easier) from Oak Street Quilts and Embroidery. If you want to try making it, I'd just like to say that as long as you stay focused, and follow the directions step-by-step, you probably will have an easier time than I did.  At this time of year, focusing was a little difficult. I really like the result, though.

You may remember my little screen-printed rabbit, that I made when I took a Thermofax screen printing class from Linda Branch Dunn, with some friends. He is actually on what the pattern calls the back of the bag, but I prefer to think of it as the front.

And, on the other side of the bag are these flaps, and piece of elastic.

These allow the bag to fold up into its own little storage pouch.

What am I going to do with this bag? I'm going to give it away, in celebration of my two year Blogiversary. Yes, it's been two years since my Daughters grew tired of hearing me say that I'd like to have a blog someday, and that if I did, I would call it "Rabbits Eat Quilts". They conspired together (long-distance) to create the blog for me. On Christmas morning, I opened a package with all the information  that I needed to sign into my blog and start posting. It was definitely one of the all time best gifts that I have ever received. Not to get too sentimental, but I feel doubly blessed, both in my Daughters, and in the friends that I've made through this blog.

Do you like this bag? Want a chance to win it? Leave me a comment on this post. In your comment, tell us something about a favorite gift that you have received. Just keep it G-rated, OK? On January 1, 2012, at whatever time I manage to wake up (no promises about that!), I'll choose the winner at random from the comments. Good luck!

Oh, and what kind of shopping bag would this be if it went to it's new home empty? At the very least, it will contain the objects in the picture above. There may be a few more items finding their way into the bag. Lots of room in there!

Happy Blogaversary!! Woo hoo! Totally love the bag Karen! It's fabulous!
Ok as for a favorite gift. It actually was a birthday gift on my 35th birthday. My mom's birthday and my birthday are in March. My sister and I planned a big birthday celebration for my mom. Little did I know my sister arranged for my best friend to surprise me at the party. I hadn't seen her in years. She came through the door, hugged me and said, "Happy Birthday Shell!" I cried like a baby and so did the rest of the party goers. It was the best gift ever.

*SQUEE*! Buntangled tote! Want-want-WANT!

Oh gawd, now I need to come up with a favorite gift? That is SO hard, as I love just about any gift I have ever gotten. It's like picking your favorite kid or something. Hmmmmm...Ok, here's one of my faves:

My husband and I lived together for about 5 years before we got married. He had been married once, and that had ended badly, and the woman he lived with post-divorce had screwed him over as well, so needless to say, he was gun-shy. Long story short, there was never any romantic proposal, no engagement ring--we just had a simple ceremony with a justice of the peace. I had a beautiful wedding band, but no diamond--and although I never said a word to him or anyone, it bothered me somewhat, me being the hopeless romantic that I am, and knowing that my hubby is definitely not.

Four years later, it's my birthday, and we went out to dinner with our son to celebrate. At the dinner table, my husband hands me a gift-wrapped box. Inside: a single diamond on a simple gold band--my engagement ring. How he knew, I will never know.

What a beautiful bag and so practical too!

Congratulations on your Blogoversary, what a lovely gift from your daughters!

Favourite gifts? I think it was finally bringing Anya our rabbit home from the shelter, she was an Easter gift from Crafty Green Boyfriend many years ago.... Of course sadly she's no longer with us,

Happy Blogiversary!! Love the bag, very cool!

Having a tough time picking my favorite gift, but I think it was an anniversary gift of sorts. The day before hubby's and my anniversary, my Bunko bunny whom I'd been trying to catch for weeks outside let me pick him up and bring him indoors. That gift of trust and love was the best ever.

Congratulations on your blogoversary! Love the tote!

Hm. Well, I can't think of any gift nearly as special as every one else managed to come up with, although I have been very blessed and have received many wonderful gifts over the years. So can I weasel out and say that just like CGP, I got my Biffington Monkeybutt as an easter gift too, and that he was such an incredibly wonderful gift that no one could ever top him??
