Weasley On Wednesday

It may be Wednesday, but Weasley's going to have to share his post with graduation today. Here he is having breakfast, with a heap of untouched Cilantro from yesterday. Apparently Ginny was the Cilantro eater. I never realized Weasley  didn't like it.

Weasley is very glad that Graduation is over, and things are starting to get back to normal. Graduation itself was actually a lot of fun. Now that was a surprise. And this was another surprise.

My Daughter is among that group of girls (in white) getting up to sing the class song. That's the band behind them. The class song was Taylor Swift's "Long Live".  Each of the girls sang part of the song as a solo, and then they all came together to finish the song. Here's my Girl, getting ready to start them off.

I didn't do a great job of getting pictures, probably I was just too excited. In this next picture, my Daughter is coming up the stairs to get her Diploma from the Mayor. The brick building in the background is actually where she went to Kindergarten. I don't know where the time went.

This is her after getting the Diploma, accepting the carnation that all the Graduates were given.

And then, she ran back all the way across the field, to play the Alma Mater with the band one last time. She's the trombonist in white, with her two best buds, also Graduates, on either side of her.

Then we went home to party. I'm pretty sure most of the band showed up, as well as some parents and teachers. There was Frisbee playing, soft ball, dancing on the shed roof, eating, tunes, firemaking, and s'mores till late at night.

The nice thing about the band kids is, they clean up after themselves, so they made my job easy. I can't believe it's all over so soon, and we are on to the next chapter already!

Spell check suggested that I replace "s'mores" with "snores"! I don't know about you, but  I don't think that's a very good substitution.

Oh! congrats to your daughter!!! Love that she sprinted back to the band to play. Especially since she played such a cool instrument :o) Love the Weasley and cilantro story. We have two guinea pigs and I always forget that Piglet doesn't like tomatoes. Even though he'll race Fudgie to them, just the same!

Sounds like a good time was had by all. Especially by those dancing on the shed roof. Weasley must be looking forward to some return to the routine, as long as, come fall, someone doesn't put him in a box and try to ship him somewhere.

Congratulations to the Graduate. Boy, she was really busy at that ceremony. It's neat that she had all that talent to contribute. The party must have been lots of fun. Enjoy!

Extra hugs to Weasley.
