A Hot Time To Celebrate Veterans

It reached 97°F in the shade on our deck today. One of those rare occasions when we miss the condo we used to live in (it had central air). I spent the morning moving between this

and this.

The bunnies spent the day snuggling their frozen water bottles.

When my Second Daughter came home from school, she jumped in the pool with her clothes on!

But in the afternoon, the Tuba Player (Second Daughter) had to be with the band for the first of several Memorial Day events. She didn't want to be there, can you tell? These uniforms are wool/polyester blends.

The tuba players warmed up, as if they weren't hot enough already.

The National Anthem was played.

Speeches were made. They were much shorter than usual.

Service songs were played.

And then the water bottles were empty, and it was time to go home.

This man's shirt really says all that needs to be said.

Made me laugh about daughter jumping in pool with her clothes on!
Today I wanted to run through the neighbors sprinkler!
